<\/div>[vc_column_text]The town of Szendr\u0151 (in Borsod-Aba\u00faj- Zempl\u00e9n county) is a settlement located at the gates of the B\u00f3dva valley, on the edge of the Csereh\u00e1t and Aggtelek karst. It is connected to Miskolc (39km) and the country border (27km) by the main road No. 27. History has always played an important and prominent role for the 4400 enthusiastic settlements.[\/vc_column_text]

Szendr\u0151 Upper Castle<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The first mention of the settlement of Szendr\u0151 dates back to 1312. Presumably 5 castles were built in the settlement (Korai v\u00e1r, Als\u00f3 v\u00e1r \/ Cs\u00e1ky kast\u00e9ly, Huszitav\u00e1r, N\u00e9metv\u00e1r, Fels\u0151v\u00e1r). S\u00e1ndor Cselenfi’s son, royal castle lord J\u00e1nos, was first mentioned in 1355, when the (early) castle already stood and was in the hands of the king.[\/vc_column_text]

Aggtelek National Park<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The Aggtelek National Park (ANP) is the fourth national park in Hungary, established in 1985 from the Aggtelek Landscape Protection Area. It was the first national park in the country to be established specifically to protect geological values. The main area of the park is the Aggtelek Mountains.[\/vc_column_text]

Rudab\u00e1nya Mine Lake<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The latest landmark of Rudab\u00e1nya is the last workplace of the former open-cast iron ore mine, the mine lake created at the junction of Vilmos and Andr\u00e1ssy II. mining part. At first, a larger and a smaller stagnant water was formed, then as the water level rose, the two lakes merged and reached their present, roughly stabilized extent.[\/vc_column_text]

Abod village<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The settlement of Abod is located at the junction of the Szendr\u0151 Mountains and the Csereh\u00e1t, in a valley gorge called the Nagy-Cs\u00e1k\u00e1ny-l\u00e1pa. The village most likely already existed in the 1200s. The name of the settlement Abod can be derived from the personal name Aba. It is mentioned in medieval diplomas as Vyobod (\u00dajabod), Ab\u00e1d, Oboud, Opud, Obad.[\/vc_column_text]

Galv\u00e1cs village<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The first written mention of the village is in the papal tithe register of 1332 as KALOACH. In the 16th century charters, the Galwacz spelling and later the Galvats spelling were used. The name is supposed to mean a man of Slavic origin and a big head. The current one, \u201cthe region of the three springs\u201d, is certainly the third place in the village.[\/vc_column_text]

Szalonna village<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The town of Szalonna was first mentioned in 1249 as Zolouna. The name of the village is of Slavic origin, derived from the word slano meaning \u201csalt water\u201d, which refers to a source of hot water from the northern border of the village. The settlement was once the residence of a branch of the conquering \u00d6rs\u00far clan. The most important monument of the settlement is the XI. \u00c1rp\u00e1dian-era round church without a tower.[\/vc_column_text]

The valley crosses the Rudab\u00e1nya Mountains between Als\u00f3telekes and the B\u00f3dva Valley. The most beautiful section of the romantic gorge valley is the \u201cDevil\u2019s Dam\u201d rock and its immediate surroundings.[\/vc_column_text]

Csorbak\u0151<\/h2>

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The medieval Csorbak\u0151 castle was built at the end of one of the northeastern ridges of Nagy-hegy on the border of Szuhogy. In 1928, an ice age cave was discovered on the north side of the castle hill, where several little or no silver-plated copper slabs were found.[\/vc_column_text]

Charcoal burner<\/h2>
